Description of the flag

Assam United Democratic Front (Assamese: Asom Sanyukta Ganatantric Marcha) is a political party which operates in the state of Assam. Its orientation, as defined in its Constitution: www.udf.in/constitution.htm is regionalist and pro-Indian. The Constitution also describes the party flag:

Article-VIII : FLAG :
The Flag of the the "ASSAM UNITED DEMOCRATIC FRONT" shall consist of 3 (Three) horizontal Colours; Green (Upper); white (middle); and Black (bottom).
Black signifies deprivation and oppression; white signifies rescue from deprivation and salvation; and green signifies peace and progress.

Size:
Length : Not less than 75 cm
Breadth : Not less than 50 cm
Length : Breadth= 3 : 2

The flag, as shown here:www.udf.in/gallery_files/Photos/69_edited.jpg and here:www.udf.in/gallery_files/Photos/88_edited.jpg is also charged with the black inscription U.D.F in centre of white field. Although the official party name abbreviation, according to the Constitution, is AUDF, this one, according to the photos from the site, is much more used, so the party obviously shortens its name to United Democratic Front in everyday use.

All India United Democratic Front

To update of a contribution above, about the flag of the Assam United Democratic Front, a political party in India, because the party now uses the name of All India United Democratic Front and has also revised its flag:

All India United Democratic Front (Assamese: Sarbha Bharatiya Sanyukta Ganatantric Marcha) is the new name of Assam United Democratic Front. The name change was made after the Indian general election in 2009, which the party ran under the original name, not only in Assam, but in West Bengal as well [1, 2, 3]. The main change in the party Constitution [4] was the new party name, and Article VIII, which describes the party flag, was left unchanged. The party website, however, shows a green-white-black horizontal tricolour, as described in the Constitution, but with the addition of lock and key, the party election symbol, drawn in black in centre of the white field [5]. The symbol was allotted to the party on 2006-08-23 [6]. The latest official document showing the link between the symbol and old party name was issued on 2009-03-14 [7] and the new party name was officially linked with the symbol for the first time on 2009-09-14[8]; these two dates are delimiting the interval during which the name change must have been made.
